  Just got off the elevator with Anthony Morris

  at the international convention here i just got off the elevator with anthony morris.

  he was heading to the basement and i was heading up to administration.

  i rode one floor down with him before i went up to my destination.

  Quellycatface- seeing single mothers like yourself trying so hard to do what they *thought* was right was always hard to take. More than anyone else, the single women with kids have it the roughest in the Jdub-land. I truly do have sympathy for all of you that tried.

  Did you ever actually believe the JW fantasy version of "Paradise"?

  i am sure this topic has probably been discussed many times before but,......... i would like reassurance that i am not the only one who gagged every time i heard a jw pontificating on their fantasy version of what "paradise" will be like.

  particularly when it comes to the animals.

  more specifically, that the animals will all become vegetarians.

  3rdgen- yet more JW BS pulled directly out of someone's nether region. We were always told "not to speculate" on the things unknown and yet that appears to be 98% of what comes off the stage or the page.

  The cheese Danish was always a favorite of mine. The couple of years that all the pudding was partially frozen was a real treat in that joyless desert. The rest of the food was horrendous.

  ?? Question for those that have successfully faded/are out:

  question: can any of you that have successfully faded out of the jw world without being df'd or da'd relate to me/us how you were able to maintain at least one or a few of your "still in" friends or family?

  (and even if you were df'd or da'd and still maintained some relationships, how did that go?).

  obviously, the truly demented, sick and twisted (and highly effective) policies and structure of the wtbt$ to set up a system by which anyone that chooses to no longer believe or participate must be treated as "mentally diseased" and a pariah by their own friends and family is the hands down, numero uno reason why many hundreds of thousands and possibly millions of jw's do not leave.

  This weekend nearly everyone I have ever known or that I am related to is sitting in a convention. I miss NONE OF IT!!!!

  I do not miss:

  the overcrowded hotel

  the rushed breakfast

  the wrinkled shirt

  the inconvenient parking

  the pretentiously extra long opening prayer

  the incessant instructions from the stage on proper behavior and expectations

  the overcrowded bathrooms

  the name badges

  the pure misery in many people's faces

  the talks that instill even more guilt and fear and loathing

  the overly simplistic advice on life's challenges

  the GB/F&DS worship

  the overly strict parents being mean to their children

  the breastfeeding mothers having to cram into smelly bathrooms or makeshift tents out of shame for feeding their child

  the condescending looks from "uber-dubs"

  the guy with the stupid sign telling me to keep moving or sit down

  the inept "security brothers" who couldn't protect a large rock

  the extra applause that is apparently necessary at the end of each session (but not required at any other time or any other meeting)

  the horrendous smell of thousands of people eating their packed lunches and then "off-gassing" the rest of the day

  the sanctimonious and mostly made up interviews and experiences on stage

  the phony excitement from the new releases

  the phony emotion of the drama

  the other JW's jabbering endlessly about the drama after the session

  the ridiculously long closing prayer that turns into a daily review of the program we all just painfully sat through

  the mad rush to get out of the venue and the stress of the parking lot with 15 year olds directing traffic

  the ill-behaved children back at the hotel who have so much pent up energy from the torture of the day and never get to stay at a hotel except for during conventions and therefore have no manners

  the phony, obnoxious "friends" who wear their convention badges out to dinner

  the preposterousness of having to do this charade for three days in a row and losing a large of your brain, your soul and your life

  No.Thank.You!

  Meanwhile, I am at home with my family having a wonderful day. My daughter watched a few cartoons this morning. My wife and I had our coffee and a nice conversation. In a few minutes I will be going outside to work on a few projects. This afternoon we are going to a "worldy" BBQ and swim party.

  3rdgen- that is well stated. I believe you are right. The hardest part for me will be keeping my mouth shut. As you can see, I am quite loquacious. I get even louder when I see injustice.

  Balaamsass2- ooooooooh yessss.......... the ol' "chronic fatigue, fybromyalgia, lyme's disease" trick. Works like a charm for so many. Don't forget the "environmental sensitivities" one too. Works GREAT!!! If only the whole world would stop washing their clothes or wearing perfume, I COULD SPECIAL PIONEER!!!!

  I could never pull the faux disease thing though. I am way too ornery.

  My Witness friends are excited

  my witnesses friends are excited as they sense emergence of a north king in putin.

  many witnesses feel that ukrain crisis will lead into a 3rd world war that will climax in armageddon, and people like me are lost forever!.

  I was under the distinct impression that the GB got "new light" about the King of the North a few years ago at the district convention and they basically said they have no clue what/who the King of the North is or if it plays any significant role in their made up prophecy predictions (and 5000 people that had been preaching about the King of the North door to door for decades all nodded their head in agreement with absolutely not a flicker of critical thinking amongst them).
